Legal Question in Family Law in California

My question is...i am a recovering addict and alcoholic with nine months. For the last nine months my visitation/custody with my children has been limited. The judge as well as mediator told me there was some things i needed to due to get more visitation with my children-job and safe living enviroment (not a t-house). In the last month i have obtained all these goals. Now that i have. I want 50% legal and physical custody of my children. What are my chances og etting that? and what laws can i site to the mediator and judge to show them it is my right to have my children now that i have proved myself to be a fit parent?

The timeshare arrangement for the children is driven by what the best arrangement is for them not what a parent may expect or desire. A real 50/50 timeshare works when the needs of the children for schooling and socialization are met, the parents are in close geographical proximity to one another and , most importantly, the parents are willing to work collaboratively for the benefit of the children.
