question teen without parent present

can dss go to my sons school and question my teen without me being present? when teen says he is not confortable answering without parent dss told him if he does not answer the question they have reason to suspect and will put him into foster care for not answering.

DSS does this on a regular basis, if there is a report of child abuse. However, they generally offer the child the option of having a teacher or other adult they are familiar with to be with them. The reasoning behind this is that the child will not report abuse if the abusive parent it present.
