Legal Question in Family Law in California

Question

Can I use this in my divorce??

My husband and I were married while he was in prison. While he was there he sign a couples agreement that say that I agree to support him while he is in prison for 3 years at 5,000 a year starting back July 2006. Once he is released he agrees to support me for 3 years at 5,000 a year. If for some reason we split up within the 3 years after he's out he agrees to pay me in one lump sum. It's not notarized.. i need to know if I can use this in my divorce to get some of my money back??? He signed it in May 2008 and we were married Dec 2008 and split Aug 2010.

No, you can't get your money back. You need to work on making sure that he doesn't get any more money from you - especially if you have a job or a source of income. File for divorce ASAP. Stockton made the news today as the most miserable place to live in the United States. Hopefully not true, I would have thought some city near the Salton Sea - like Indio.

Anyway,

Good luck
