Legal Question in Family Law in California
Quit Claim Form
I' ve been in a relationship for 7 years, but this is not a legal marriage,Ive been just living with my boyfriend, Now he is asking me to sign a Quit Claim Form, because he have a lot of money and he does'nt want to give a penny in case we break up.
I would to know if this is gonna be ok for me?
Can I claim something of his money
in case we break up?
Even if I sign this form can be voided in the future?
Can I have a Lawsuit case against him for the fact that he is manipulating me by telling me that if I don't sign this form for him he will live me, is this an Extorsion to me? Please give an answer.

Re: Quit Claim Form
At this point, there's nothing you can get from him as long as you aren't married. If you don't like his behaviors, you can break up with him. He wants you to sign a quit claim deed to prove (in the future) that you had no interest in the property, especially if you get married. Honestly, move out. Why live with someone who is going to treat you like that? Why not protect yourself with a marriage certificate? Also, know that if he buys this house as a separate property, and then marries you, if he makes payments on the property you will be entitled to the equity but only if he makes payments on the principal. If he makes payments on the interest only, then you won't be entitled to anything.
