Legal Question in Family Law in California

quitclaim during legal separation

I'm legally separated in California and my husband and I are still living together as married couple. he buys a new home under his name and wants me to sign a quitclaim deed. I don't want to. I'm afraid I'd be giving up rights to equity. Do I have any rights anyway to the home since we're already legally separated, or am I, in the laws of the court, already not due any rights because of our legal separation?
