Legal Question in Family Law in California

Raising Attorney Fees

Can a divorce attorney increase their fee (in our case, from$250 and hour ro $300 an hour) mid case? The fee agreement clearly states that the fee will be $250 an hour and there isn't any language in the contract that provides for increases.

Re: Raising Attorney Fees

The raised rates depends on the terms of the agreement, if the agreement provides for circumstances with notice when a rate increase is appropriate.

If you have additional questions you should contact any attorney in your area.

Good luck.
