Raising Grandchild why parent are deployed or working
Grandchild's mom would like for us to provide and care for our grandson for 3 months. She has re-inlisted in the Army. Our son is in Iraq should return in June. Trying to determine what we need to do legally while he is in our care. Should we get temporary custody, power of attorney?

Re: Raising Grandchild why parent are deployed or working
You could get a temporary guardianship, but a letter from the parents (medical release, educational release, etc.) will usually be sufficient for most occurrences involving the child, at least on a short term basis.
