Ramifications of 14 Month delay in filing modification for child support
My ex filed a Stipulation to Modify Child support to a dramatically decreased amount. Although averse to the terms I agreed and signed. The attorney for the other side, eager to settle and file the matter, had me overnight my signed copy to him. I went about my business assuming the new agreement to be filed and legally binding. Over one year later I received a call from this same attorney requesting another signature on a court required form in order that this same modification be filed with the court. What ramifications could this delay have for both sides if any?

Apparently the judge did not approve the original stipulation. Get a consultation with an attorney so that you will know your rights, the costs would be nominal compared to what you are giving up. After a consultation you will know your rights and can make any choice you want. Good luck, Pat McCrary
