Legal Question in Family Law in California

Reasonable age for Overnight visitation

What is considered a reasonable age for overnight visitation? I have a 18 month old and has only spent 3.5 hours every Wednesday with the other parent. I have him on a schedule and after he's been with the other parent it takes me two days to get him back on track. I don't see this as being in the best interest of the child. All I've been told is that it is up to the judge. How do they know what is in the best interest of the child?

Re: Reasonable age for Overnight visitation

The age at which overnights are reasonable would depend upon the particular facts. If father has regular contact and the length of the visit is lengthy then overnights may be okay. From my experience many judges must flip a coin to make a decisions. Other judges make decisions based their personal experience or the experiences of those they know.
