Legal Question in Family Law in California
i received a notice in the mail from social security stating that a new payee has been selected for my sons benefits i found that as odd due to the fact that my provide for my son. my son lives with me and has been in my custody since 2008. i went into the ssi office to figure out what happened and the representative informed me that there was a court order that stated that my sons father has physical custody file dated 01/13/2001. i was given the case number and further instructions. as i looked up the case number to my suprise the case was filed in 1999 and we had been to court as i mentioned earlier in 2008. i was wondering is there a way that case could have been opened back up because i never received a notice when to appear or anything. is there a time limit or could he have had it done fraudulently

You can move to vacate the judgment or set it aside.
