Legal Question in Family Law in California

received papers for divorce

on oct 3 2008 my husband of 22yrs

gave me copies of papers he filed

with the county courthouse for a

divorce. I put the papers away

waiting for official notice and a place

to sign but never received now i see

info that i had 30 days to respond

what do i do now if i didnt do that?

It sounds like you may not have been properly served. You can go to court yourself, explain the situation to the judge and schedule a date that you can prepare an answer. If you prefer, you can have an attorney handle this for a reasonable fee.
