Legal Question in Family Law in California

I was recently granted phsyical & legal custody of my 6 year old daughter in California. My current husband & I want to move out of state, however the judge has ordered mediation between my ex & I set for 90 days from today. Do I have to wait or can I file a motion with the court requesting the move?

Yes, you can file a motion requesting the move, and to expedite the mediation and hearing. Given the courts work load, even before Covid, it's not very likely that you will get a result sooner, but if you have a seriously compelling reason you MUST move sooner, you may be able to get an emergency hearing. Just don't count on it.
