Legal Question in Family Law in California

Hi, I recently married a woman who has three children from a previous relationship. The children's father is absent and I have NOT adopted the children. My wife and I are having problems and may be heading toward divorce. We have been married for less than two years and have a child together. My question is if I get divorced would I have to pay support for her three children from the previous relationship as well as child support for my own child? Will I have to pay support for four kids and just one, if we were to get a divorce?

Just your child. Although more facts are needed, due to the short duration of your marriage spousal support is unlikely.

You pay child support only for your child. If you pay spousal support it would probably be one half the length of the marriage. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
