Legal Question in Family Law in California

do i have any recourse?

Is it just my attorney are is the court system this messed up? I have been waiting for a court date now for over two yrs,then wasnt given notice of the court date Which was Jan 14 2003 and to top it off when I am given notice by my so called attorney about the matter its 2 months later March 6,2003 or should I say $4,500 later and to make this matter even worse my x's attorney is going to file an order to show cause for contempt? Iv been waiting for 2 yrs and now am in contempt of court,,something just isnt right here!

It sounds as if something is not right. I would suggest that you seek the advice of another attorney that practices in the county in which the dissolution is filed. Good Luck, Pat McCrary

Based upon your description, something is definitely lacking and it sounds like it is your legal service provider. I would consult immediately with an experienced family law lawyer. It will be helpful to bring a copy of your file with you when you consult. If your lawyer has not provided you with copies of your documents, you can purchase a copy of the pleadings at the courthouse where your case is filed.
