Legal Question in Family Law in California
Trying to Recover from biological Father.
Two years a go or so I have been fighting a child support case which I have a legal default judgement from the state of Nevada. It was really difficult to get especially with him being in the US NAVY. After the default judgement of child support and Nevada already with holding his pay of $602.00, plus $60.00 for back child support, which already started this passed October after two years of not paying. When she was born he had affidavit to sign for his name on the birth certificate. The question I have is how can I recover from past medical expenses that he has never paid for? ( I have paid everything from the obgyn for me to the pediatrician for her.) The state told me to go to small claims. I have called the small claims court office where I live in Fallon, NV. Fallon said I have to do it on where he lives and works. The USS Reagan is in CA. Do I file in California or hire my own attorney? I can't afford that because the child we had together is a special needs child. I already wrote the commanding officer of the USS reagan he throws everything back and is disrespectful. It was already hard enough for the child support, but for the other expenses he owes me. I have been getting a run around everywhere.

Re: Trying to Recover from biological Father.
Contact the congress person from Nevada and ask for help. Contact the child support enforcement division in the county in which the father is stationed and ask for assistance in collecting the medical expenses. If you have received any written response from his commander forward a copy to your congress person. Also contact the US attorney in Nevada regarding his failure to pay these medical costs for the birth of your child.
