Legal Question in Family Law in California

Recovering property

My ex-boyfriend and I were together for 11 years. When we broke up, I had to leave behind several large appliances that he had given me as gifts since I could not store them in an apartment. He said if I needed them I could get them later.

He also promised to provide some financial support until my son finished high school, but he has stopped.

I want my appliances back so I can sell them to pay bills. My question is, is it my right to go and take them?

Since they were gifts I do not have receipts but I have witnesses to the fact that they were given to me as birthday and Christmas gifts.

Thank you!

Re: Recovering property

If the facts are as you have stated, and you can lawfully gain access to their location, you can get your appliances.
