Legal Question in Family Law in California

I was in a rehab center for three months. in order for my mom to keep my kids i had to sign temporary custody to her. i have bean out since oct 4,2010. i got my self a job and a place to live i also continue to be sober.now i want to get my children back but have no clue were to start from....
