Legal Question in Family Law in California

Reinstatement of Maiden Name Following Divorce

I obtained my divorce in the CA Superior Court in Oct 98. Prior to filing, I indicated on the papers that I wished my maiden name to be restored, not realizing the lengthy processes involved (passport, visas, ss, dmv etc). I wish to remarry. Do I have to revert to my maiden name, and undertake changing all my legal papers, or am I still legally allowed to apply for a marriage license under my 'married' name.

Many thanks......probably just a simple question......??

Re: Reinstatement of Maiden Name

You are free to use any name you want. Nothing need be filed. If you want something filed it is a simple process any attorney can do.
