Legal Question in Family Law in California
Relationship with Another
My ex and I were going thru some difficult times and we decided that we would see other people. We continued to live together but slept in different rooms, etc. The man that I dated, I knew years before and I knew that he hd spent time in prison but I did not know what for. He ended up serving time for sexual acts with a minor. After I learned of this, I immedialtely cut off all tie with him. My children never met him and were never once around him. My ex is now bringing these things up, saying that I am putting the children in harms way, I have not spoken with the other man for over a year and do not plan to ever. Can he use this to take my kids?
Thank you!

Re: Relationship with Another
Child issues are generally affected by your current relationships in determining whether your children might be in harm's way if you were to have custody or unsupervised visitation.
Since you state that this is a past relationship with the old boyfriend, it probably would not be considered unless he is still in touch etc...
Good luck.
