Legal Question in Family Law in California

Relinquish parental rights to Mom

I want to know since my x wife has no legal custody if I choose to relinquish my parental rights could I relinquish them to her if she agrees and chooses to adopt our son. I know it sounds crazy but I do not have enough space to explain this question. I want to know if I use the correct form and relinquish my parental rights back to the mother can she agree and adopt him back. Her parents plan to help her and guide her and I have had enough of all the heartache involved. I could also have her parents adopt him. My son hates me and only wants to go back to his mom and grandparents for the last 7 years. I will always be his father in blood but realize I lose all rights but want her to take it all back over and I do not want any custody. Done. Can I do this with an agreement of adoption from mom (biological parent). I have been defending myself and my custody to my x and her parents for 7 years since i gained legal custody. Our son is almost 17 and has many issues due to the custody change years ago so I hope to do this in his best interest. Is this possible to do?

Re: Relinquish parental rights to Mom

Transfer of physical custody from one parent to another is not a relinquishment of parental rights. It can be done by a simple agreement.
