Legal Question in Family Law in California
Relinquishment of parental rights.
If someone gives up their parental rights, can the other parent ever do anything legally to them in reference to the minor child? Doesn't giving up your rights mean that in the eyes of the law the child is no longer yours?

Re: Relinquishment of parental rights.
Termination of parental rights does mean that legally the child is no longer yours. However, if ,for example, past due child support was owed before the rights were terminated, the arrearages would still be owed.
