Legal Question in Family Law in California

remarriage without divorce

what is the law regarding multiple mariages being performed between the same couple without any divorce? And any punishment for this, if any. Also, by failing to disclose this on an application for citizenship, what are the possible repercussions, if any?

Re: remarriage without divorce

I don't think there is any law dealing with this. The first valid marriage is the only one that counts. Couples often "reaffirm" their vows or conduct religious weddings after being married civilly.

Only the first valid marriage would be reported on immigration or other forms.
