Legal Question in Family Law in California

i thank you very much for your reply, but as i was saying i had been paying my ex wife

spousal support for about little over 2years until the final stipulated judgment and i was

ordered to pay additional 40month from the date of execution of the herein stipulated

judgment, if the 40months counts from the date that we both signed the stipulated judgment

then i think i had fulfilled my responsibility, but my ex wife is telling me that it goes by the

date that is recorded by the court. is it true?

thank you again in advance.

It will turn on the exact language of the document. If literally says "from the date of execution" then the date the last signature went on the document is the relevant date. The date the court made it a judgment is irrelevant, IF the court did not put any language in the judgment and just incorporated the stipulation as the judgment. If the judgment has separate language about support, that supersedes the agreement.
