Legal Question in Family Law in California

requesting a continuance

I have a status conference scheduled and would like additional time to see if my husband and I can work things out. The form I received from the court states that I can call up to 1 day in advance to request a continuance. I have called numerous times but had to leave a message every time. Is it ok to just not show up or do I need to have some confirmation that I had requested this continuance? I don't want the case dismissed if I don't come to the conference. What are my options?

Also my husband has never received any notice from the court regarding this conference.

Reply: requesting a continuance

The safest thing to do is show up and ask for the continuance.
