Legal Question in Family Law in California
Didn't respond to Divorce Summons within 30 days
My husband of six years served me with
divorce papers 32 days ago. I couldn't
afford an attorney until now. I got
disclosure papers yesterday. 1ce I find
a lawyer, is it too late to respond? I
work part-time, and I want alimony, but
he requested to not pay it. Also, our
child is in a great neighborhood public
school, will I have to sell my house or is
there a way to defer sale until she's
done there? Would that affect my
alimony at all?
Also, his disclosure papers that he filed
with court have many mis-truths about
my salary and his salary, plus what we
both spend each month on the house.
Since he perjured himself, can the court
take legal action against him?

You should file an answer as soon as possible. You can get assistance from the family law court clinic in the family court where the petition was filed. In the meantime search for an attorney to represent you.
