Legal Question in Family Law in California

respondent did not serve me

I filed a MTC, so I was the moving party, but the other party, the respondent, never served me with the other part of the packet. My court date is tomorrow, and I'm wondering if this is in fact the proper protocol??

tell the judge you weren't served and the matter will be continued.

What is an MTC? Depending on what you are talking about, the responding party may not have to serve a response prior to the hearing.
