Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am restoring my lastname to my maiden name in my divorce and want to change my son's last name to hyphenate it with mine and his father's. What are the chances a Judge would agree to this (my ex rejected it). Thanks.

None. Changing the child's name is a totally separate legal proceeding from the divorce case.
