Legal Question in Family Law in California

restraining order hearings

I have a a temporary restraining order, which I have been unable to serve the RP. I have had it extended once already. Am I required to go to the hearing? I am just going to drop it anyway. Will I get penalized if I don't show up?

Re: restraining order hearings

The court will simply drop the matter. It's usually better to show up and say you couldn't get the person served, but you won't get penalized if you don't.
