Re: restraining orders

The restraining order is valid after it is issued without a hearing for 20 days. However, the court may extend the restraining order for a number of reasons. If the restraining order cannot be served in time or if the restrained party requests a continuance to retain an attorney. You need to get an attorney to respond to the retraining order and if appropriate oppose it.
