Re: restraning oder

The protected person must appear in court for a restraining order about 3 weeks after the temporary order is made. Sometimes the police will get the temporary order. The only other possibility is the restrained person has been ordered by the court to stay away from the victim of a crime as part of the terms of his release. In that case you may never have appeared in court and asked for a restraining order. You can call victim's services or the District Attorney to request that this condition be dropped if you want contact with the restrained person.
