Getting his retirement?

I have been separated from husband for 11 years, have not even spoke to him in all this time. Recently I had to sign and notoroize his application to receive his retirement pension. I assumed I would receive a portion but am now told I have to divorce him to receive any money. I am the beneficiary though if he should pass. He is 66. What I need to know if I do have to divorce him to receive any of this marital property?

Not exactly. You need to at least file for legal separation and once that action is pending can request a court order to get your portion of the pension.
