retroactive spousal support

I was married almost 20, did not work the whole time,divorce was final April 2002...got virtually no settlement. All I got was my car,TV,VCR,bed and clothes, and $15000. I'm broke and on the verge of bankruptcy.Can I sue for spousal support now?

The answer is probably you can request spousal support at this time. Take your dissolution papers to an attorney in the county where the action is filed and ask that he review the papers and advise you of your rights. There should be a nominal costs, if any. The attorney may also be able to get the court to order your ex-husband to pay a large portion of your attorney's fees. Don't delay, you may have some time limitations if you need to set aside the judgment. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
