Legal Question in Family Law in California
riddle me this.......divorce
I've been attempting to divorce my wife of our seven month marriage for five months now. She has been asking the court to include a premarital claim (that she cannot substanciate) in this divorce and now we are going to mediation. Her lawyer has submitted two Stipulation and Orders for Mediator to me both basically including the terminology ''all issues in this case be resolved by the mediator, which are final and legally binding (sort of a combination of the two). This scares me because if I sign it would essencially state that I agree to resolve her premarital calims as well. I cannot figure out the insistance of these words especially since in her second offering of this order she includes this in ''the court version'' of this form and it is not originally included there. I can only conclude this incorporation can potentally compromise me. I am in pro per and only trying to protect my rights and achieve my goals, so please help.

You should retain an attorney as your situation could cost you much more than an attorney would cost you. No one can give you advice on signing a document without reviewing the entire document. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
