Legal Question in Family Law in California

My rights as an adult ; Father rarely paid child support.

I'm from Northern California. I'm an adult now however, I have been wondering about the laws pertaining to child support. As a child I was lucky if I recieved a child support check from my father. Through high school and junior high I know I never recieved one. I once went to him and asked for three hundred dollars for a school function and he gave it to me. What I want to know is, even though I'm an adult am I or my mother entitled to back pay from my father?

Re: My rights as an adult ; Father rarely paid child support.

The child support is your mother's. The purpose of child support is to reimburse her for costs of raising a child.

There is presently no limitation on the time in which child support arrears can be collected.
