Legal Question in Family Law in California

Rights of the biological father

I just heard from my ex and found out that she along with the help of the man she was with at the time faked a paternity test by swabbing my childs mouth and her mouth. 3 years ago she showed me the results so I did not pursue it any longer. She has recently told me the truth in the matter. The guy involved is on the birth certificate and is trying to obtain custody and rights to my child. What can I do at this point. Has it been too long for me to obtain parental rights? I live in Alaska and this is all happening in california. Thank you so much for your help!

Re: Rights of the biological father

Did my email not go through earlier? If you want to pursue your rights to custody/visitation of this child you must assert them immediately in a court proceeding. How that plays out depends on a number of facts, not just blood paternity. There are time limits. so acting now is essential.
