What's my rights as a father of a newborn when the mother won't let me have her over night

You have the right to petition the court for orders regarding establishing that you are a parent and establishing your parenting time.
While Cary is right regarding your right to petition the court for orders establishing you as a parent, and parenting time, the child may be too young at this stage for overnights, especially if the child is breast feeding.

Interestingly, Mr. Besser takes a rather antiquated position regarding your parental rights. All things being equal, there is no legal reason why you cannot have overnight visits. Even if the mother is breastfeeding, she can pump. The bigger question is your devotion to being a parent and willingness to do whatever it takes to establish your equal rights with your child. Good luck!
