Legal Question in Family Law in California

rights of grandparents in custody of grandchild

Child Protection in California took daughter away from my daughter. She, boyfriend, and baby were living with his relatives & my daughter was unaware there was a felen in the home. daughter has complied with the court, except for housing, because every time she gets a job, family classes, random drug tests, etc. are during work and she loses her job. Her working grandma & I are co-owners of our mobile home in Nevada. My husband is working also. We want her & baby to come to us so we can help her get on her feet. We don't have much money, but we have a whole lot of love. We feel Calif has already got some adoptive parents waiting for the baby. Question: Why can't we get, at least. temporary custody until the mom gets on her feet in calif, if she is required to continue to prove to the court she is a fit parent. Case worker said that we the grandparents HAVE TO earn 50,000 a year. Why? and case worker said that grandparents have to have a 3 bedroom house, not an apartment. Our mobile is 2 bedroom. Why? We are desperate for help.Case worker wants mom to come to us without baby. We feel this would be abandoning the baby. Babies mm & us in Nevada do not want this to happen. We love them both.

thank you for any help you can provide.

Your daughter should be represented by an attorney if the juvenile court case. If her appointed attorney is not providing answers to these question and taking action to assist her then you should consider hiring a private attorney to represent her.
