Rights With Regard To Child Support

I want to marry a person who owes child support, Should he fall behind with his child support payments am I liable for the payments as his wife?

You are not personally liable. If you have jointly owned assets, a levy could be placed agains the assets if he is behind in child support. You should find out whether he is current before you get married. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
