Legal Question in Family Law in California

Sailors & Soldiers Act

I phone California's District Attorney Office regarding the status of my child support case and was told that the father of my child was served in November 1999 but due to the Sailors and Soldiers Act they could not do a default after he did not respond. The case was returned to the D.A. Office to be reviewed. If the D.A.'s Office does not take any further action what can I do to move the process?

Re: Sailors & Soldiers Act

It appears that the father of you children is a member of the armed services. If that is the case contact his commanding officer and tell him or her that he is not paying child support. If that does not solve the problem contact you local congress person and request help.
