Want to save my inheritance during divorce

hi i have been married for more than a year now. My parents have sent money from overseas to invest in real estate etc. They wired this money in our joint account. I want to know in case of divorce how can i protect the real estate that i have bought with this gift that my parents sent me.

By keeping very good records. It would also help to get your wife to sign an agreement recognizing those funds as separate gifts from your parents. Do not commingle those funds with community assets.

There might already be an issue if the funds have been co-mingled.
