Legal Question in Family Law in California

School Paper Work Dispute

I have sole physical custody of my child. The non custodial parent will often keep school paperwork from me. I have gone to the school to receive all school paperwork directly. They claim they cannot do this unless I have a court order. As the custodial parent, shouldn't I be allowed to receive all school paperwork, as long as I am providing copies to the non custodial parent? Is there any case study that I could use to back up my argument?

Yes, the answer to your problem lies in Family Code Section 3025. Send me an e-mail and I will send you a copy attached as a WORD file. You ABSOLUTELY have a right to access to all school records.
