Legal Question in Family Law in California
If I separated from my spouse and gave her support without a separation agreement in place am I responsible for the taxes on the money given (California).

Not sure what you mean. You don't get to deduct it from your income taxes if that's what you mean, but you don't have to pay any additional taxes on it and neither does she.
