Legal Question in Family Law in California

separated spouse purchasing home

I am separated (no legal paperwork yet) and am buying a mobile home with my mom (she is loaning me the money). I want to be sure this will not be part of the community property when the divorce is filed. I was planning to have the title read - My name & my mom's name as tenents in common with rights to survivorship. Is this sufficient or is there a form or something that I can get his signature on that will protect my interests. Regards

Re: separated spouse purchasing home

I suggest you have the title vested only in your mom's name until you are either legally separated or divorced. Thank you for your question-Martin
