Reply: Separation

In a general sense, the assets you have acquired post separation are presumed to be your separate property. It is a rebutable presumption.

For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!

Re: Separation

The answers to your questions will not give you the information that you need. Generally, assets acquired after "separation" are your separate property. "Separation" is when you no longer intend to be husband and wife. Those are over simplified rules of law. Talk to an attorney and resolve the legal issues. With more detail, he can provide you with better answers. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
