Legal Question in Family Law in California

Seperation and support issues

My wife filed for divorce in april of 2005 and then reconcilled 2 months later. She had me served and filed the papers and I never responded. We have now seperated again and she has moved out but still is on the lease. The papers were filed at the 1 year point of our marriage. we have now been married 22 months. Can she ask for spousal support? She has a job, but works when she wants, which has been 1 day since Dec. I have been unemployed since Dec. She has worked off and on through our marriage and we have no children together. I have 2 that I pay child support for and she has 3 which she does not get any child support. How can I best protect myself? We have tried to reconcil off and on the past 3 weeks. When i don't give her money she threatens spousal support.

Re: Seperation and support issues

Based on what you wrote, the court is not likely to award support in this case. The marriage is short term and neither party has an income. Get your response filed if you're not going to reconcile.
