Legal Question in Family Law in California

Being served for child support

Do I have any rights as a civilian who shares a last name with someone who is being served for child support? Is there anything that I can do to stop the harassment of the legal services of California by sending mail and sheriff's over to serve papers or legal documents? The person they are trying to serve has never lived in this apartment but for some reason they keep affiliating me with said person due to our being related and sharing our last name, what can I do about this?

Re: Being served for child support

Have you tried contacting the district attorney and setting an appointment to prove that you are not the individual in question?? If that does not work, Mr. Koury is correct, you must answer if served.

If you get served with papers you need to respond or they will get a judgment against you. when you go to court demand that the judge order them to pay your attorney fees and then sue them for malicious prosecution
