Legal Question in Family Law in California

being served court papers

i just recieved a phone call from his lawyer on the answering machine saying i had to be in court on the 22nd i have recieved no papers, but i called the courthouse to verify and spoke with the clerk. is this a valid service?

If he notified you of an ex parte hearing then yes you or your lawyer needs to be there. Call me directly for representation.

It sounds as if you recieved ex parte or emergency notice. You would be prudent to seek an attorney before the hearing on the 22nd.
