Legal Question in Family Law in California

Having someone served.

I went to the courthouse to file a restrainig order against my 18 yr. old step-daughter to keep her away from my two sons and my self. The judge signed ''No Order'' on it but set a court date for 9/20/07. Do I have to have her formally served with the paperwork?

Yes. You should retain an attorney or seek help from a domestic shelter organization etc.
