Legal Question in Family Law in California

I was served divorce papers back in April 2009 I never contested to them what would the outcome of the divorce be and how long until I find out?Reason being that I have absolutey no income,is it still possible for me to contest my divoce,or is it too late?

Check the court's website and see if the other party has filed a Default against you. If so, you will need to file a Motion to Set Aside the Default in order to participate in the divorce. If not, you can file a Response to the Petition and participate in the divorce.

A divorce can be finalized 6 months from the date you were served with the papers. The only relief the Court can grant the other party is what they asked for in the Petition, nothing more.
