Legal Question in Family Law in California

I was served a summons by my ex boyfriend for custody/parental rights of our joint child. California form FL-210. What is my best way to respond? I want to retain sole custody and am not receiving any child support.

You need to file a Response to the Petition (Form FL-220) stating you want sole custody. If he filed an order to show cause for custody and visitation, you will need to file a response to that also. You can also file your own order to show cause for child support. Good Luck.
